4 Tips For Better Linkedin Marketing Odds

Mar 18, 2021

Before I get into the 4 tips for improving your marketing on linkedin let's discuss what is one of the best marketing tools you can use linkedin for your business.

If you're after more leads, brand awareness, or strategic partnerships to fuel your business goals, LinkedIn can become one of your most powerful advocates if you play your cards right.

Part one of the process of promoting yourself on Linkedin is page elements and within this section is 6 parts.

Customize Your Public Profile and URL - Make sure it's crystal clear what you

do, the impact you've made on your current business, and what you've done in the past. Post a recent image of yourself.

Update Your cover/ Background image - Make sure it's crystal clear what you

do, the impact you've made on your current business, and what you've done in the past. Post a recent image of yourself.

Add a Profinder Badge to Your Profile - If you're a contractor or freelancer, you may

want to consider adding a ProFinder Badge to your profile. LinkedIn’s ProFinder connects independent professionals with clients and project managers

who need your specific skillset.

Add Important Links to Your Personal Profile and Brand Page - Include relevant links to your portfolio, posts you’ve written, your company website, social media pages, and more on your LinkedIn profile or Business Page. These links will help reveal who you are, what your business is all about, and how you can help.

SEO Your LinkedIn Profile and Business Page - Don't think that SEO optimization only

applies to your website. Make sure you're using the most important

keywords within your profile and business page.

Also, linking your LinkedIn profile to your website -- and vice versa -- adds

credibility and domain authority.

Reorder Your LinkedIn Profile & Business Page Sections - You can edit and reorder the

current positions, volunteer experience, accomplishments, and education sections on your LinkedIn profile.

Moving sections around can make your LinkedIn page stand out for

users who have seen lots of standard, cookie-cutter profiles.

Also, you can emphasize specific pieces of information however you

see fit.

Take advantage of linkedin endorsements - LinkedIn endorsements give you the

opportunity to recognize others’ skills or confirm their professional accomplishments. You can also list your own skills and give your connections the ability to verify your past projects and performance abilities.

Part 2 Account Management:

Use Open Profile to Expand Your Connections - You’ll need a Premium LinkedIn membership to use the Open Profile feature, but it’s a great way to reach out to industry leaders, new contacts, and others who can expand your brand.

Stay Connected to Your Network Updates -See what your contacts are up to and take time to comment on what they share. By doing so, you can play an active role in the conversation and offer meaningful thoughts and ideas.

Check Often to See Who's Viewed Your Profile - This is a great way to find out who's interested in what you have to offer and who you may want to connect with. You can do this with the Who Viewed Your Profile feature.

Export Your Linkedin Connection - As you grow your connections, you can use them to drive traffic to your site and grow your customer base.

Follow these steps to export your LinkedIn contacts:

1. Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn

homepage.

2. Select Settings & Privacy from the dropdown.

3. Click the Privacy tab at the top of the page.

4. Under the How LinkedIn Uses Your Data section,

click Change next to Download Your Data.

◦ Note: You may need to sign in at this

point.

5. You’ll be redirected to the Download Your data

page where you ncan select Connections.

6. You'll receive an email at your Primary Email

address with a link to download your

connections list.

Customize Your Connections- As you grow your connections and shape your

brand, you may want to consider getting rid of old connections, controlling who can see your connections, and more carefully evaluate the ones you're considering adding.

Part 3 Leverage Social Interactions:

Join LinkedIn Groups - This happens to be one of the BEST ways to

connect with like-minded people. There's so much value you can both gain and give in a group scenario.

Create Your Own LinkedIn Group - If you want to get adventurous, why not create a group of your own? By creating a group, you become an instant thought leader.

Use @mentions When You Post on LinkedIn - This helps you make mentions where mentions are due — to your connections and others who have made an impact on you.

All you have to do is place the @ symbol in front of a user's or company's name in your status update/post.

Showcase Pages - LinkedIn’s Showcase Pages are niche pages that bring

attention to specific projects and campaigns that you're hard at work on. For example, you can feature some of your specific projects that inspire a specific group of people on

LinkedIn. This can help you expand your network as well as bolster your brand.

Part 4 Analytics and Resources:

Content Marketing Score & Trending Content - Content Marketing Score and Trending Content are proprietary LinkedIn resources that show the impact you're having on the platform. More specifically, you can see how your audience is engaging with your content. Based on what you find, you can test content and optimize until you discover what works best.

Test LinkedIn Sponsored Content & Native Ads - LinkedIn’s PPC ads let you target specific job titles, job functions, industries, or company size, to name a few — in other words, the people who are more likely to want/need what you sell.

Analyze Your Marketing Performance - Finally, let data be your guide. LinkedIn’s page

analytics tools give admins the ability to evaluate the performance status updates, content, reach, and page engagement. You can also access insights into the demographics and sources of your followers and visitors.

As you go forward with your LinkedIn effort, you've

got to keep both eyes wide open. There are so many opportunities for your brand and you personally. We strongly suggest you make LinkedIn a regular

part of your ad buys and daily routine. With these tips in place, you can maximize your impact on the platform, generate leads, become a thought leader, and so much more.
